2012 Horror Movies I Can’t Wait to Watch

Wow, we suck at updating this thing. Anyway, here are some movies I’m looking forward to this year.

Piranha 3DD

Double Ds!

Resident Evil: Retribution

I wonder if this will ever make it to space, like Jason X and Hellraiser: Bloodline. Or I dunno, Leprechaun 4: In Space.

Prometheus

Ridley Scott’s prequel to Alien! No Ripley, but I’ll take what I can get.

Frankenweenie

I can’t stand Tim Burton these days, especially after the monstrosity that was Alice in Wonderland, but I’m a sucker for stop-motion animation.

REC: Genesis

Nauseating camera movements aside, I liked REC and the sequel was also pretty good. I was never a fan of the shaky-cam style in horror movies because 1) someone is trying to fucking kill you, so how about turning that goddamn thing off?, 2) it makes me dizzy, and 3) seriously, why the hell aren’t you running for your life?

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

I’m mildly interested to see this. Wanted wasn’t all that impressive but I did like Night Watch, so maybe this will turn out okay. I bet Asylum’s version will be better. You know, this one:

Abraham Lincoln VS Zombies

As you can see, there’s not much to get excited about. Howells.

All things RE in 2012 with Resident Evil 6 and Re5ident Evil: Retribution!

It seems Capcom is having a big 2012 with all things Resident Evil (also known as Bio Hazard in Japan). Not only do we get a trailer for the next movie starring Milla Jovovich as Alice, but also one for a NEW GAME slated for release at the end of this year, and it stars none other than the main male leads of the series, Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy! Thanks goes to Kotaku and Comic Book Movie for the news!

The Walking Dead Season 3 gets 16 episodes!

Hi everyone, Timzster here and sharing some great news I posted over at my blog PopCultureCrusader. Anyone who loves AMC’s The Walking Dead knows that Season 2 is coming back next month. Now, we get even better news in the form of what to expect in Season 3!

Announced by AMC at the Television Critics Association (TCA) last Saturday, and posted in several sites like Comic Book Movie and Superherohype, AMC’s third season of their popular survival horror series The Walking Dead will be getting 16 episodes! In addition to revealing a new promo poster that reminds viewers that the 13 episode strong Season 2 will resume with Episode 8 on February 12, the channel has also stated that their international broadcast partner, Fox International Channels, will be following the 16 episode order for Season 3.

It’s Friday the 13th and it will be a great disservice to my favorite slasher series of all time if I don’t feature it on this blog. Without further ado, here are some of the best kills from the Friday the 13th movies.

Where it’s all fun and games until someone gets hacked to death.
Blood, gore, and tits after the cut!

Horror Video Games to Look Forward to in 2012

My boyfriend Marco got me a sexy red PlayStation 3 as a late Christmas present, awakening the video game nerd in me that has been long asleep and out of touch with the gaming world. Although slaying dragons and exploring underwater cities were the first things I did on my new console, I’m starting to miss the unique thrill that can only be evoked by scary video games. Come to think of it, I don’t think I shot a zombie or bludgeoned a bandaged nurse since the PlayStation 2.

With some deft Googling, I came up with a list of upcoming horror video games that will hopefully be released by the time I’m finished with the games I currently own. Based on my research, we’re up for a very exciting year in horror gaming – assuming that nothing gets in the way of their releases, that is. Here are the survival horror video games I’m looking forward to in 2012:
